2 (Great season, best episode of all time is the finale. I've seen it about ten times, probably, and still love it. Peter turns into a great, unexpected villain, and it's fun to see Silas growing up some.)
3 (They did a great job of wrapping up the Agrestic story in a creative way. I wasn't the biggest fan of the U-Turn storyline, but bringing in Guillermo was one of the best moves in the series.)
6 (Pretty solid, but some storylines got old, though the finale is probably in my top 3 favorite episodes of the series. I didn't care for the Seattle storyline, as it just felt like filler. The lack of Esteban felt like they couldn't nail down the actor to actually appear until later in the season, but it worked out.)
1 (Middle of the road for me; more reasonable Nancy, but more boring story-wise. Compared to other finales, finding out Peter is DEA feels way more toned down that things that happened in 2-7.)
7 (I didn't love where the characters were as people, but they told the story well. Again, another great cliffhanger at the end)
4 (The more I watch 4, the more I like it. It may actually be higher than season 7, actually. I felt like the relocation to Ren Mar was well-done and "freshened" the show a bit, even if viewers got mad about Agrestic/Conrad/Heylia being gone.)
5 (Dull, drawn-out, repetitive... ZZZzzz. AMAZING finale, but the two episodes before, UGH.)
8 (It's cool that Nancy saw where she wanted her life to be and started working towards that, but man was it a boring season. The return to Agrestic was nice, but then to just jump ahead in time afterwards, no... Also, the series finale, just awful. The only redeeming thing about it was the last 30 seconds of everyone sitting together outside.)

1. Season 2 - just such a good season, good drama that always makes you feel for the characters, everything is kept moving but meaningful. agree that the finale here is possibly the best episode
2. Season 4 - keeps the world of Weeds together. despite the location change, I came to care for Nancy and her crew so much in this season. Great drama
3. Season 5 - Not a popular season but I actually really enjoyed it. Hits a lot of great notes. I think I didn't like it at first because I watched all the episodes out of order, which ruins the drama. This is an incredibly serialized season.
4. Season 6 - this season's a fun romp but there isn't a ton of meat to it. fabulous finale. Loses points for dropping Celia.
5. Season 3 - Would have ranked higher but the liberal preaching becomes truly strident in this season and overpowers the nice character moments throughout
6. Season 1 - amazing but just kind of slow without a lot of purposeful direction.
7. Season 8 - I actually really really like this season, but the plot is just really scattered and non-urgent at this point. When Nancy and Andy finally **** though is one of the greatest dramatic moments of the show.
8. Season 7 - Just awful, I can't explain it. I didn't feel like the show had completely jumped the shark until now. It feels like nothing Nancy does ever has consequences to a point that breaks believability. She gets away with everything, so I stopped caring. At least half the season should have been spent in jail, and I don't know why New York was necessary.

Funny story: I accidentally watched 5 (the first time) out of order as well. It was back when I had to rent the discs individually from the video store, and I didn't realize there were a different number of episodes on the DVD discs and Blu-Ray discs.

1. Season 4: explored more of Nancy's dark side and displayed what she's been all along.

2. Season 5: this season has grown on me and now I love it. There were 2 great Andy and Nancy moments/conversations.

***. The conversation just before she marries Esteban about Nancy "going down a road" and Andy "spreading his life out like a map" was amazingly well done.

***The whole police station waiting room Woman's Universe '74 love quiz was awesome. Great dialogue.

3. Season 6: actually felt danger here and ending was terrific. Again showed more of Nancy's dark side.

4. Season 2: fast paced and again a sense of danger. Again, an amazing ending.

5. Season 1: great setup.

6. Season 7: A lighter season but the humor and dialogue was spot on.

7. Season 3: entertaining however started to get repetitive.

8. Season 8: I still enjoyed it and I liked Nancy trying to be a better person, but needed more story and the mystery shooter story should have lasted longer.

AGREED! 4 and 5, aka The Mexican Seasons, are Weeds at its best. You can rank 1-3 and then 6-8 in any order after that.

IMO, it started going extremely downhill after they left Agrestic.
04) Season 05
05) Season 04: Ren Mar felt largely like a waste of time and I never liked the Mexico trafficking storyline.
06) Season 08
07) Season 07:
08) Season 06: Way off track, not remotely interesting, but I'm loyal so I stayed with it.
