How come this theory isn't more popular?!?

Before watching this doc on the Sundance channel a few days ago, I'd never even heard of this theory. I watched the film in complete awe and amazement, not only because of the implicatations of the theory that the West brought AIDS to Africa, but also because people seem to think that this isn't worth delving depper into to figure out exactly what happened during those experimental vaccinations in the 50s.

After viewing this, I mentioned the theory to my niece, mother, father, and sister, and none of them had ever heard of this either. I think this issue is trmendously important to the way we view AIDS; so how come this issue isn't more mainstream?
