he WAS a terrorist

the key word here is was, and not is. He has paid "his debt to society", and so his crime(s) should remain in the past, people should have the option of rehabiltiation, one of the many reasons we abolished the death penalty.

I realise that his people were treated as inferior, but even with the best of intentions, terrorism does more harm than good.

eg islamic terrorist, gives reason supports the stereotype that all muslims want to blow themselves up.

the ira, gives reason supports the stereotype that all irish people hate the uk

the alf gives reason supports the stereotype that all animal caring people go round blowing labs up

the kkkgives reason supports the stereotype that all whites are racist

92 BREEDS INCLUDING CORGIES + ST BERNARDS OFFICIALY LISTED AS "DANGEROUS" IN ITALY

reply

Depends on your point of view. Sure, the ANC killed people.

According to the nazi's Von Stauffenberg was a terrorist who tried to blow up Adolf Hitler. Other resistance fighters killed many people, among them civilians.

According to the dutch, the Indonesian freedom fighters (after World War II) were terrorists. They killed many white soldiers and also quite a few half-breeds (like my father's nephew's family).

According to general George Armstrong Custer, the only good Indian was a dead Indian (don't let my Canadian Indian brother-in-law hear that!). Nowadays Custer'd probably use the word 'terrorists'.

One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.

Yasser Arafat
Nelson Mandela
Che Guevara
Michael Collins
Eamon de Valera
Gerry Adams
Martin McGuinness
And many more

My grandfathet could never understand why we embraced these people, as they were nothing more than mass murderers and common criminals, and here we are jumping into bed with them in front of the world.

Whether Mandela actually planted bombs or not is irrelevant, he certainly ordered the attacks from his position in the ANC, Anti-Apartheid Campaigners seemed to make Mandela a criminal martyr.

I mostly agreed with my grandfather in his opinion on Mandela, but he always said Mandela should have been left to rot on Robben Island, and I always thought he was set free at the right time, as he was an old man at the point of his release

reply

The word terrorist should never be applied to peoples practising self defence.
