Were the people who played the Palestinians actually Middle Eastern or were they of Indian descent?

I played 1 of the Leads. Ahmed and yes i am middle eastern. I am Jordanian.
Although I read somewhere that the actress who played Fatima was actually Indian.

She looked more Indian than Palestinian and her accent wasn't Palestinian at all (I should know I am Palestinian) and her accent sounded more Indian as well
Not that it changes anything though, I thought it was still funny :)
