Farewell Everyone

I used to post on this Board for the longest time. Since the day Salvation was announced, this was one crazy ride.

I remember Bale being announced to play Connor, and that made people somewhat optimistic. Then the first teaser came out and some people said it looked cool while others said it was an MTV movie.

The leaked ending and the Bale rant really swayed the momentum away. The Nine Inch Nails Trailer made people really excited, but then the movie came out.

Hell broke loose. People expected it to be great. Those who predicted the movie to be a fatal mistake (e.g., Mootownkidz) were in absolute euphoria. Others were dismayed.

Its so sad, because in 2008 these producers (Halcyon) became so cocky that they apparently signed Bale for 2 sequels. Didn't do their homework right. The post war setting and the general storyline was in the right direction (away from Time Travel), but the execution was poor.

In the end, this story arc did not get explored and we got another mess of a Terminator Movie.

But it was great being on this forum discussing this movie. That year of hype leading to the movie was really nice.

Hope that one day a decent Terminator movie is made documenting properly the climax of Connor sending Reese back (not like Genisys).

I also remember that year. Especially the fallout after the movie came out and the backlash that happened.

It was funny how it was the trolls that liked the movie. Lol.

It was also funny how everyone was fighting whether the film would break 400 million and get another sequel directed by MCG.

I haven’t spent so much time in a movie forum since them (maybe Avatar). I admit I am nostalgic for those days. I can’t believe it has been almost 10 years since the film was released.
