*Nude Shower Scene*

well PW finally opened in NYC and i musy say it is an rather likable film. my
only criticism is they could have tigthened it by say 12-15 minutes. now to my
topic at hand "Dan's" nude shower scene. right at the begining of a practice the
coach says "where the hell is Millman?". the camera cuts to the boy's locker room with the shower roaring quite loudly. as the camera pans in we get a shot
abet *a very quick side view shot" of Dan under the showerhead. now i'm betting
that was a body double and not Scott Mechlowicz. now if the director felt this
scene was necessary why not hire an actor willing to do a side view nude shot?
using a body double makes the scene totally bogus.

ha, while everyone else is criticizing the movie for plot, pace, and script... this guy is upset there wasn't authentic penis.

i love the IMDB boards... where WOULD i get my daily dose of humor?

What does it matter seriously?

Not everyone is comfortable showing thier body on screen and people should respect that.

At the end of the day that nude scene doesnt contribute anything to the movie (other than eye candy) so why not hire a body double?

reply

I think you mean, Not everybody's comfortable filming a nude scene with Victor Salva behind the camera. Even if it was titillating, it would be like seeing a naked woman who turns out to be your friend's mom.

-No. He won't even know your name.

No my comment had nothing to do with Victor Salva

Okay, just putting in my 2 cents. I didn't Literally mean that you intended it, just saying my opinion. My mistake.

Well....it's because,to hire another actor is to have another person with different acting capabilities and physical appearance. Scott Mechlowicz exudes all the great qualities which the director likes. I like him too. It is just one shot. It'll be weird if the director signs up ONLY the actor that is willing to do side view nude that lasts only 1 second.

The point of the scene wasn't so we could see him naked, it was so we could see that he was clearing his mind, "taking out the trash", and focusing on his next task. He was simply watching the water from the shower fall into his hand rather than thinking about anything else going on in his life at that point.
