Where's Joseph?

Haven't seen this movie yet, but in looking over the credits here I notice a rather glaring omission from the book -- Joseph, the fellow Warrior who owns the restaurant Socrates takes Dan to before his period of fasting. As I recall, there were a lot of powerful lessons about the Way that we see through Joseph -- the ways he's able to purely express his emotions and then let them go when the restaurant burns down, the vitality Joseph demonstrates (Dan thinks he looks to be in his late 20's, but he's actually 52), Socrates' reaction when Joseph dies, etc.

Is he simply dropped from the movie? Or does someone else take his role in the film?

I agree, I really liked that character and how Socrates reacted to his death and how Socrates explained to Dan his very healthy perspective on the matter.

Another one I missed is near the ending when Socrates collapses because of his genetically inferior heart and how he wishes to be in the moment just like he teaches and there's no point in worry.
