4.1? Finally a solid straight to vid indie, and it gets a 4.1?

I don't get it.

I thought the film was well paced, had no bad performances (the one playing Kevin was spot on), and kept me engrossed the entire time. For an indie film, that is extremely rare.

Granted, I didn't like the look of the film (looked a bit cheap) and I'm not much of a fan of the overuse of hand held camera, AND the storyline was too familiar but there too many good things about the film to write off.

Hmm... I just watched this film for the first time myself. I haven't really processed it enough to consider a rating yet, but I thought it was pretty good, especially for an indie film. The plot is familiar, true, but for those who like watching movies about things going inevitably to hell, this film is not a bad choice.

I thought the acting was good, in general - Chad Lindberg, Pierce Forsythe and Michael Rapaport in particular were very good, though I didn't really buy Charlotte Ayanna's performance (her crying scenes especially just struck me as off somehow).

My Inner Film Editor was going off throughout the movie - I thought the pacing dragged a bit, and it could have been better edited, tightened up a bit. I can't point to anything specific right now, though I'll probably be thinking about it for a while, trying to work it out.

I agree that the hand-held camera was a bit overused - or, maybe more accurately, unevenly used. I liked the use of it during the street montages, but it was a bit distracting during other scenes, like the opening at the day-trading office.

Overall, I enjoyed watching this - like you said, there are enough good things to make it worth viewing.
