Bad ending!

I really didn't like the endning! It was the obvious "easy" choise to solwe all the film's conflics. Easy fairy tale ending where everyone's happy! Bvdr!
I think the writer avoids making a big desission, by letting Jacey give her baby to Jane... What do you think? Liked the ending?

My litle pony, there's nothing like Ponyland! (I hate ponyes!)

i couldn't disagree more. this movie didn't end bad. how do you figure that jacey giving up charley would be "an easy choice"? that would be the hardest choice a mother would have to make unless she was a selfish bitch and didn't want the baby to begin with but jacey clearly loved charley. although i'm a guy, even i could understand what a hard decision that would be to make.

I liked the ending. I couldn't agree more with Josh43701. The ending could not have been any better

i just wanted the mom to get hit by a bus. maybe even thrown in the trunk of a car never to be heard from again

I thought it was a fine ending , she did what she felt was best for her child. I think giving her baby up was the biggest decision she clearly thought long and hard about it.

If she kept her legs closed.. tisk tisk.

I thought the ending was fairly good.In the end both families got "what's best".

The ending stunk, and it is not unusual for women who gave their kids up when young to take them back later, legally through court. I personally know of a few and the adoptive parent is naturally heart-broken while the kid is messed up for life. I've witnessed and I'd caution anyone to be careful about "opem adoption"

um taking this alittle seriously, its a movie. even if it were real, i can't see jacey wanting to take charley back. she was happy with seeing him whenever she felt. and i dont think you shold let "a few" cases determine that the whole open adoption system is bad....

To the best of my knowledge, it wasn't intended to be a comedy. The movie "For Keeps" is a more comedic edge on the age-old accidental teen pregnancy theme

>>even if it were real, i can't see jacey wanting to take charley back. she was happy with seeing him whenever she felt.<<

Its not all that rare in real life. Of course Jacey was pleased with her decision at that time. The real life cases I've known about, its when the teen mom hits her 20s and has established her own life that she aches to have the child back -- the two cases I know of, one did it when the child was 8, the other when the child was 4 (and she was married and had already started a family with her husband). Trust me, the kids NEVER got over that emotional trauma

>>and i dont think you shold let "a few" cases determine that the whole open adoption system is bad....<<

I never said the "whole adoption system was bad", I just think folks should proceed with caution. Ever seen the real life TV docu-drama mini-series "Baby M"? That child grew up and witnessed herself being used as a college case in her own ethics class

Bottom line, mothers can easily change their mind. and courts tend to consider the biological bond to be sacred.

Avoids making a big decision? What are you talking about? Jacey made an extremely difficult, but honorable, decision when she allowed the Cooper's to adopt her child! This WAS a big decision!

i think the ending was good as well, very heart wrentching. but if that were me i know i could never do it. even if i was 15 or 16, i could NEVER give up my child. and even though it might be in the better intrest of the child to have a mother and a father with a stable income to support it, i think id have to be selfish. i mean could you imagine giving up a piece of your heart? that would be the hardest thing id even have to do in my entire life and i know id regret the decission everyday, even if i did have an open adoption, i just couldnt do it

Just think: We could end the problem of teenage pregnancy if the childless teacher couples would just adopt their students' babies!

Seriously, this was a pretty good movie and Danielle Panabaker does a terrific job. It's pretty messed up that she didn't even tell the boyfriend about the baby until later.
