Manny's Backstory

Hey,
The is revealed in Ice Age 1, but, I am a little confused. During the scene in the cave, it appeared to me that the paintings revealed the Manny was a young mammoth and his father and mother were killed by hunters. I believe that Manny basically raised himself and always felt bad about the death of his father and mother. This is what I believe his backstory was.
Some other sources says that Manny was in fact the father in this story and his wife and son were killed. If you get the chance, watch the scene closely in the cave and tell me which one it was.
In addition to this, I was confused if Ellie's parents were killed also or what here backstory was. Please help me. Thanks. This is really bugging me. Thank you guys.

I saw Ice Age 1 two days ago. The cave paintings show that humans with spears separate Daddy Mammoth from Mommy and Kiddie. Mommie and Kiddie Mammoth are subsequently killed by other humans throwing rocks at them. Sole survivor: Daddy Mammoth.

Oh wow, I had the same theory as the OP, that Manny was the kid. It never occurred to me that he could be the dad. Oh dear, that makes me even more sorry for him.

Manny is the daddy, no doubt about it. They added this scene in to show how much of a better guy Manny is than Soto (who's out for revenge).

Manny was the dad. It's the reason why he got upset the kids asked him where his family was.

About Ellie: I'm not sure what kind of back story she has. Seeing how adventurous she was in Dawn of the Dinosaurs (a contrast to her cautious nature in Meltdown), maybe she got separated from her herd during the blizzard.

Just repeat to yourself "It's just a show, I should really just relax."

They do give us a flashback during the movie, where, indeed, she gets separated in the blizzard.

It is confusing to tell if the cave paintings are to tell us if Manny was the father or the little baby mammoth, but I think people can't tell those apart because there is no audio happening when that scene was taking place for the drawings to move.

It's not that flaming hard to tell, I mean both the mother and child are killed, so the only survivor is the father, ie, Manny.

wow the op really needs to watch ice age 1 again. im lost for words on how anyone can think manny is the baby.

I always believed that it was Manny's mate and child. Never doubted it once.
