One thing that makes me angry

The scene where they smash the mailboxes. That is not funny. I have had three of my mailboxes smashed by vandals, and it is no laughing matter. The fact that this film glorifies such an act infuriates me. What hppened to the days when movies were supposed to set good examples?

but it's only entertainment. Not real. I can see where that scene would annoy you

The thing is that a lot of stupid people will probably see this and do it.

No, but smashed mailboxes are a different matter. I am not rich, and I have had to buy three mailboxes in the last three years because of vandals.

The mailboxes I get are metal, and I have a very good sense of humor. I just don't find destroying mailboxes funny, it is actually a crime, you know.

When did movies ever set a good example?

It's a movie (entertainment), not a public service announcement.

Lighten up man.

Perhaps "One thing that makes me angry" was the wrong title. One thing that disgusts me would have been better. It's not like I actually got seething mad while watching this. And there are indeed worse things being glorified in tv and the movies. But seriously, why is it that movies don't try to set a good example these days?

I moved into this house about4 years ago. Which is a brand new house and we have a cement mail box or bricks whatever. So maybe invest in that

1. Buy baseball bat.
2. Lie in wait.
3. When vandals appear, take bat, aim at head, swing!

I have to agree with the OP , it was the one moment i felt took away from the film. I get that this might have been what Reggie actually did as a youth , but it seemed so unlike the characters to be willing to actually go along with it. It was a little cringeworthy seeing all that mail go flying around too.
The thing i think that makes it bad is how it's presented as a humorous good time, like there's no harm in it. Its something you would have expected to see the jerk coach character doing, not the main protagonists.
Having said that, it was friggin hilarious when the front window got smashed.

I totally agree! It isn't funny and it sets a bad example. The movie is about being kind and accepting. Destroying property goes against the movie's and the characters' philosophy. It shouldn't have been in the movie.

For some reason I didn't think the scene where they were smashing mailboxes were as funny here as it was in the movie "Dazed And Confused".
