The AK-47 is a mad weapon. In fact, it ranks higher than the M16, according to some Discovery show program.

The reason is that it is simple, compact, light, and easy to use. It is the beginners choice.

In case of a war, a country with untrained forces can actually fare as well as the opposing country with trained forces, only if they are supplied with AK-47s. This has been the case for every struggle about the world.

In Battlefield Vietnam, I am quite adepted to yielding such weapon to dispose the opposing "Americans". I have been quite successful in disposing these fools from a 200 yard distance. And mind you, I wouldn't rate myself as a gifted shooter.

AK-47 is an excellent weapon, that's true. It's better than the M-16 on BFV to, but I like the looks of many other weapons better than the bad-guy weapon AK-47. It's quite easy to survive in close quarters combat on BFV if you are using the AK-47.

Too bad that in real life the AK-47 is a piece of crap compared to the M16.

Think again..
M16 kept getting jammed in the jungle, while the AK47 will still shoot even if its full of dirt.
A lot of the US soldiers in Vietnam traded their M16 for AK47's they took from Charlie

Stop watching "lord of war"

and the old first generation models m16s jammed a lot but this was settled when they handed out cleaning kits and the ak47 is highly inaccurate than the m16 probably cause it's more or less meant to be a machine gun not a rifle

they both have there trade offs but i perfer the m16 just because i cna carry more ammo and can take out a poor bastard from 1000m out

Only because of the dirtier gunpowder used. After they started using the proper powder things much improved. Iraq is one hell of a dusty place, my M16A4 never jammed once. And I didn't always have time to clean it either.

The M16A4 is a modification, and has been improved since the original model M16 in the 60s. Anachronism much? The AK-47 continues to be the choice weapon over the traditional M16 of the time, and even in some cases, the modern day equivalent. The only reason over the modern day one being the cost, and the ammo, which are hard to find on the open market.

You know, AK's are evolving as well. Ever heard of AK-74's etc?

The AK firing mechanism is made of chicken wire so a lot of gunsmiths think its a piece of junk. Well piece of junk or not, terrorists use it because it is cheap and you can't kill the thing. It is much more reliable than an M16, especially the ones from the Vietnam era.

Bottom line is AKs are more reliable than an M16.

I don't think anyone is going to be beating the barrel of an old M16 with a sledge hammer against a tank to straighten out the barrel like they do with the AK47.
