Part 2 now out

This story has now been continued with Part 2 of the Dick Proenneke saga, released 2011. It is almost as great as the original, you get to see Dick's life in the cabin after the first winter.

Just a heads up!

Does Bob Swerer, Sr. narrate it like in Part 1? Or is it Proenneke's own voice this time?

reply

It seems to be the same voice as in Part 1.

reply

Thanks! As much as I love Mr. Proenneke, his voice is difficult to listen to for an extended time. That's a shame because it would have been nice for him to be able to narrate his own story.

A hard proposition as Mr. Proenneke died in 2003. I think his nephew is still alive though and has a fairly similar voice - somebody here suggested he should be narrator instead of Swerer.

reply

I find Swerer's voice pleasant to listen to. I'm not sure it would make sense to have a less appealing voice do the narration. That's why there are professional narrators.
