She never stops talking about herself

I like Tyra's shows and I do find them interesting sometimes, but I've noticed that every conversation leads to a remark about something she went through. It's kind of annoying. Everything somehow relates to her and she never fails to mention it. Someone can say I'm cold, and she goes on to explain how she was cold in Paris as a teenager but she sucked it up only to become one of the most famous models ever.

She loves talking about herself, and I wonder does she even know that she's doing it that much. I'm not saying she's conceited. I don't think that. I just think she comes off as self-absorbed and should keep some things to herself.

Also I hate when she tries to do psychology 101 on her guests even though there is a guest psychologist in the audience to explain. Every time someone does something deviant she jumps to the conclusion that they've been hurt. If you're promiscuous you've been hurt. If you're a mean person it's because someone was mean to you. And so forth...

Come on.

I've posted this very topic several times, so I fully agree with you.

I think Tyra is desperate to come acroos as a regular person. We ALL know she is mega rich, and has been called gorgeous for the last 17 years. So she tries to bring up stories about her life that proves she's just like the rest of us. The problem is she over does it.

It is damn near impossible for Tyra to be able to relate to every single guest, but yet she comes up with a story to try to relate to every single guest (except for the prostitutes).

I still like Tyra because I really believe that she means well, but it's still quite annoying. At one point, I stopped watching her show for an entire year because of this.

When we take advice or counseling from a supermodel we are in trouble.

reply

Because she's a former super model. She's not a doctor, psychologist, or therapist. She has to use her own wisdom and experience to give advice.
