weak collections from all 4

Ranking:

1. Erin is just weird. I still don't get her and her style. She's got her own style, that patchwork, embroidery and bright colors thing. But and I wouldn't wear any of those garments. She won by default because the rest are just so awful.

2. Laurence lost herself in the finale. No trace of what she's about. Her impeccable tailoring is still there, but her designs are so blah and so old fashioned. They look like rejects on TJ Maxx. Sad she started the season strong... and ended with that? I thought she got tricks up her sleeves.

3. Rik. I still don't know this guy. I don't know his style. There is like 3 different collections on his show. He said it's about optical illusion, and about 60s/70s. I'm like, this guy needs to go to art school (or go back if he already did).

4. Ruberi. Why would anyone convey confusion? So stupid. I was confused, so he succeeded, I guess? When Nina said they should look "lux", what she really meant was, "Ruberi your garments look like trash bags". So ugly.

Ugh. Is this show running out of good designers?

His name is Roberi, not Ruberi.

Agree, all four were lackluster. The weakest was Laurence's, followed by Erin's.

I though all four created strong designs throughout the season, but this was probably the worst overall finale collection I've seen. Worst individual final collection still belongs to Ashley. The judges should be embarrassed for picking that hideous collection.

reply

Ashley won simply because her style was the most marketable. There are so many more plus sized people out there today and until recently not many designers focusing on that demographic. So once again her clothes are very marketable and thats why she won, I suppose I get the judges decision whether or not I agree with it. Ashley was in no way the most talented designer that year though. Her collection would have been on par with this seasons finale, which was very disappointing.

I agree, three of the four collections were pretty boring and/or unfocused. I really hated the shiny skirts in Roberi's, they looked like colored saran wrap. Rik called his punk rock but I come from that era and I saw nothing punk about it. Laurance lost her self, as you said, that collection didn't look like her at all. While I didn't love Erinn's either, her stuff can go to crafty pretty quickly, it was cohesive and had some fun moments. I suppose that is why she got the win.

She did produce my fave look of the entire season, the white dress with orange sleeves from the second or third challenge. I would probably have voted for her to win.

None of them were great. I don't see why people are so riled up that Erin won. They were all big letdowns.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

reply

I would say that three of the four were letdowns. Whether you like Erin or not, her collection was definitely who she is as a designer. In that sense she delivered, so probably the reason she won.

reply

Oh sure her collection was very "Erin" but just because she stuck to her aesthetic it doesn't mean her collection was good. There was no good choice though so its whatever I guess. I would have liked to have seen Laurence win but she metaphorically fell down 2 flights of steps.

OMG....so true! Her clothes went from looking really sharp to being...kind of mumsy, as they say in the UK.
