My Professor Was In The Gay Adoption Episode

My professor was one of the gay parents featured in this episode. We watched it in class and he told us how they edited the show to frame certain conversations and aspects of their life.

For instance he told us...

They edited her arrival to make it look like they all had dinner that night. Notice the clothes don't match from when she arrives and when the eat dinner.

They edited their final argument at the dinner table and cut out tons of dialogue to make things look tense.

They edited in various images of other peoples farmland to make it appear they lived in the middle of nowhere.

After a conversation about homosexuality, they cut to the phallic looking water tower in my college town.

My professor really did not seem to care for this women at all. He said he regretted doing it and he didn't make nearly as much money as the women did.

He is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is very laid-back, smart, and caring.

His name is Dennis Patrick and teaches at Eastern Michigan University.

I agree, this was one of the worst episodes as far as the person actually seeing the other side to some extent. She just did not budge. She'd just fall back on "Well, these are my beliefs, and I think it's morally wrong," or she'd get upset and walk off.

But, maybe he should be glad he did the show if other people will be influenced by it.

This woman could not grasp that the world did not revolve around her and did not fit her needs. She hates the fact that she must live to question her own convictions.

I was listening to the Adam Carolla Show (radio), and they had Morgan on. During the second half the minuteman from the illegal immigration episode called in and basically went on a rant about how they severely edited the show to make it seem like he changed his views at the end.

I know all shows have to be edited, but I was really surprised to hear that they edit this one so much. Its a shame really, one aspect I loved about it was how honest it seemed.

At the end of the immigration episode they had a disclaimer saying that guy was still a minuteman, only not as active as he used to be.
