Why?

They just can't leave a good movie alone.
Weather the movie will be good or not, why can't they just let it be?
Tarzan is and always will be my favorite disney movie.
Just, WHY??
They murdered Hunchback of Notre Dame with the second one,
same with Shrek 2. (Just in my oppinion. I know many people liked it.)
And the Lion King...George of the Jungle...
why?

if this was posted...i am very sorry. I was very steamed at the moment and was on a roll and didnt bother to look with the fear of losing my train of thought.

I have to tell you it is terrific..More of a prequel. Tarzan as a little boy and his problems being a human.Saw it this weekend at a screening and really
loved it..give it a try

It is just another case of Disney making a cheap direct-to-video sequel to one of it's theatrical hits.. Lion King II, Aladdin II, Pocahontas II.. ring any bells? Any why not, they don't cost a lot to make, and they're guaranteed to be snapped up by undemanding parents who never have enough time to spend with their kids. Disney sold it's corporate soul long ago, and it doesn't care whether these shoddy knock-offs have not a shred of artistic merit between them.. as long as they sell, they'll keep churning 'em out. And as for Phil Collins, isn't he a bit past it now? Perhaps he should do himself (and us) a favour and retire gracefully, I am sure he has more than enough cash in the bank for his pension, and he wouldn't have to damage his reputation further..

Aladin 2 was good...it was the 3rd one that sucked

shrek 2 was ok but your right it didn't really need a number 2 but once you see it it's good but that's just it if they never would have made it it would have been fine with out it

What a horrible way to make some cash. I've seen it and it's pathetic. ALOT better than many other sequels, but still falls on its face. Juvenile and not at all on the level of the First one. I was hoping this would show a new Tarzan, early to mid teens maybe. Just something that we haven't seen before, but they give us this cheap re-hash. I loved all of the first movie, but the young Tarzan parts were definately my least favorite of it. And now we have a WHOLE FILM with this annoying little kid.

That didn't come off rude at all. All you did was voice (type?) your oppinion and I respect that. My appologies for making it sound ignorant...In my honest oppinion, though, Tarzan got excellent ratings and was an amazing movie...I just wish they could have left it at that.

There is a very simple solution! DON'T WATCH THEM IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM! Yes, I love Disney movies, but you got to remember they are for kids. Kids don't care if it is good or not, they just love it because it is more of the story. I'm not saying that adults don't enjoy them as well, but they do this for the kids. I love all the sequels for The Lion King.

Just because we don't like them doesn't mean to say we should be tolerant of their existance. We have just as much right to critizise these bargain-basement cash-ins as much as their admirers (shudder) have to praise them. Of course, if I was in Disney's position, and I was losing money every year through a succession of dodgy theme parks and disappointing theatrical releases, I'd probably end up producing this low budget tat as well if it turned a profit and it kept the baliffs off my back for a few months. But fortunately I ain't Michael Eisner, so I can state for the record that if one of my kids ever bought home one of these shoddy knock-offs on DVD, the only fun we'd ever get out of it would be as a frisbee in the park or possibly a coaster for their apple juice (they do spill it a lot at that age, don't they?) On no accounts would I even consider putting it on my machine, I'll stick with the classics thank you very much and I don't fancy having my child's memories of Walt's legacy revolving around watching this Saturday morning standard fare..

reply

people do we forget that these are KIDS movies.it's nice that we like them but my kids love them and for what i see on saturday morning cartoons i think it's nice that disney is still around.i guess you like the fact of your kid trying to beat up everyone and her botty all over the place i hate when people pick on stuff like this but your kids listen to all kinds of music all because you don't think they understand the lyrics or watch whatever because you don't think they know what they are see.....sorry i just run into many parents that don't like some normal but they let their kids act like the next music video girl and the boys are are gonna be pimps or something
does anyone understand what am trying to say

p.s
phil is still the man

Kids don't care if it is good or not

LOL--yes, they do care if it is good or not. They just haven't adopted the same criteria and preconceptions that adults adopt (and adults usually adopt the criteria and preconceptions that they do in order to fit in with some clique or another).

Kids judge films in a very different way, but they do judge them.

I saw Tarzan 2 yesterday, let me say it was horrible. Most of the plot was pretty predictable, and in my opinion, a VERY slow movie. But I'm not going to put it entirely down. The animation was good. A LOT better then I expected for a sequel. Animation was pretty much all I can find the least bit nice about the movie. If you asked me, the movie seemed more like...a very, very, VERY long TV episode.
