RWTN

Watched Rolling with the nines last night for the first time after I had watched Rise of the foot soldier. Whilst I thought the acting was poor and dire in some cases it was not time wasted as it was enjoyable to watch in a plastic throwaway way. Stereotypes are played to the max as far as the black actors and police are concerned and Robbie Gee who is a decent actor was the best of a very poor bunch acting wise in this film. The actors who played the police were equally as bad but some of the action scenes were filmed really well and as it was a low budget film all in all it was not terrible? Terry Stone’s character Detective Andy White was enjoyable if overacted but enjoyable all the same. Don’t get me wrong Shane Meadows could have made two better films for the price of this one but then I’m prepared to invest the time and money to watch a future film from Julian Gilbey on the strength of this and Rise of the foot soldier which I also thought was spoilt by bad acting but had some well filmed scenes in parts?

I'm not there when I'm not needed!

There was absolutely nothing good about this movie. Nothing.

I enjoyed this movie immensely. Sorry if that makes me an idiot, thought the story was good and the action scenes were very well done. Mr Gilbey followed this up with Rise of The Footsoldiers which was much better. I would say he is a director to watch out for in the future!
