the story of the trilogy (to end all the confusion)

************spoilers are implied**************

Sands of Time:

The vizier trick the king to attacking the maharaja . King Sharahman(prince's dad) conquers the maharaja's army and captured farah as a slave. among the spoliers of war, The Hourglass, and the dagger of time retreived by the prince. and farah is the keeper of the medallion (in WW)

Prince releases the sands. the sands transforms everyone into sand monsters, even prince's dad which later prince must slay. execpt the prince, the vizier, and farah. becuase they are the keepers the dagger, the medallion, and the snake staff. the prince and farah travel together to defeat the vizier. along the way they get sidetracked and take a bath together. the prince falls alseep and farah steals the dagger but leaves her medalion so he doesnt turn into a sand monster. they meet up again under bad conditions. prince trys to save her but farah falls to her death. prince retreives the dagger and presses.

he locks the sands back into the hourglass and performs a HUGE rewind. he rewinds all the way back a day BEFORE the vizier has a chance to trick the king. the prince kills the vizier in farahs bedroom. (at this time everyone is still alive and the sands were never open) but one thing is wrong. at this time TWO medallions are in existence. Farah's and Prince's. this is why the Dahaka hunts the prince. because he screwed with the timeline and he created a duplicate of a unique item and that cannot be. The dahaka must destroy the medallion and take with him.....a body.

warrior within, next time

reply

Well, i am thinking about the "duplicate of a unique item and that cannot be."!
It mades sense, but in the end of warrior within the dahaka, in the alternating end (without all life upgrades) chases kaileena, and it only takes your medallion. and in the real end, dahaka chases kailena and has no problem with the medallion. I thinl you right, but i don't think that the emdallion is the raason..
sorry my english =P

reply

in the alternate ending for warrior within you have to kill the dahaka (i think, never got all the life upgrades so i dont know) so that would stop him from taking the medallion

reply

and plus the prince throws the medallion into the ocean in the intro of the two thrones so i guess that means something.

reply

mabye it might be in the next game ;)
if there is one...lol

just a thought...

But why must the Dahaka take a body? And if there are two medallions, wouldn't there be two daggers also?

I lean more toward the explanation given by the game: The prince cheated his preordained death, and therefore the Dahaka must remove him from the timeline. Remember those visions the Prince had at the save points in SoT? They showed him what was written in the timeline. One of the visions the Prince had showed him being impaled on floor spikes and dying.

reply

I always wondered about that, because of all the things you did see, you never saw that, for obvious reasons of course, but that's the best explaination for that ever. Thank you very much.

I have just finished playing SoT, and I recall seeing the Prince dying multiple times, and not just once, in the visions. I even remember a couple of ones where he is shown falling to his death (I'm not refering to the prisons here). I am sorry but I don't exactly remember which visions are the ones that show him dying, but I'm pretty sure they've shown it plenty of times.
Kryotu, your post was pretty helpful and made sense too, I would really appreciate if you gave us the story to the other 2 games as well. We're waiting.

you guys, i'm seriously, you guys...

whoever messes with the timeline is supposed to die. the dahaka is after the prince because he is supposed to die. nothing to do with the medallion. the dahaka taking the medallion isnt the real ending anyway so who cares.

see it this way

1>vizier tricks prince. and makes him mess up the sands
2>prince uses HUGE rewind to correct mess.
3>"technically" prince messes up timeline
4>he wasnt supposed to mess with timeline, so he's supposed to die.
5>the root of the mess are the sands.
6>prince does more rewind, and brings kaileena in present alive so no sands
7>now "technically" kaileena messes with timeline, even though prince tricked her
8>so dahaka after kaileena now, but prince has the water sword so dahaka dead.
9>prince and kaileena make sweet love
10>but uh oh, no sands means the vizier didnt die, and is still hungry for sands. >> POPT2T

get it?

reply

but why the hell is whoever messes with the timeline supposed to die? is that some kind of punishment?

as for the "views of the future" in SoT in which the prince supposedly dies, I think that only goes to show us exactly what the prince says: time isn't a river that flows swift and sure in one direction, it's an ocean in a storm. meaning the future ain't fixed. the prince may or may not die, it depends on him.

further speculation in thread "plot hole?" in this board

reply

Well I was thinking the "dying prince visions" were plotholes too. He was never supposed to get the dagger. Just live on happily ever after or whatever. Grabbing and using the dagger however would lead to his distruction (falling into spikes and whatever those visions are showing). Now he rewinds back to the beginning and after that doesn't take the dagger (day after telling Farah). So he doesn't die just as fate wanted. Or am I way off?

And no sands of time would mean Vizier being alive, but prince still remembering everything from part I and killing him. I've come to believe that movies about timetravel and things are bound to have plotholes. Like the grandson kills his granfather question. (If he kills grandfather, grandson would never exist etc)
