Armaments + Sacking Towns

First off: The manual issn`t really that informative. There are some things that are simply not mentioned in there. This might be one of them or I just havn`t figured out how to do it yet.

1. If you capture a ship and keep it it sometimes has less guns then in the table mentionend in the book. For instance: I caputured a french frigate and made it my flagship. She had 10 guns. Soon after that I came up against a english frigate and she had 18 guns!

My question: Is there any way to buy guns from the shipwright?

2. If you want to sack a town you have to wait till the nation your starting for is at war with that nation. But since the garrions of each town changes with the economy and time sometimes there is a small town when your not at war and it would be easy to sack it. But you can`t since your not at war with that nation. Or there a nations that simply don`t seem to care whatever you do to them, they never fire at you (like the Dutch!) not even in wartimes.

My question: Is there any way to sack a town when your not at war with that nation/they are not pissed off at you?

TIA.

You can't always sack a town by land. I was trying to sack some towns last night. It was driving me nuts because my pirates would be on land and walk into the town, and not give me the option to attack.

To be able to attack a town, just sail back and forth in front of it, firing your cannon. Soon, you'll piss the town off enough that they'll fire back. Then just sail in, and you should be able to attack(unless you are very greatly outnumbered)

Welcome to my world-where everything's made up and the points don't matter.
