i want an imaginary friend..

well, if i had one that would only mean that something's not right with my brain. but seriously, after seeing this movie. I want one.

this movie was really good. a bit slow at times but i love slow movies every once in a while. I did not expect, however, for this to be a tearjerker. But there you have it. I started crying when Christopher and Captain excellent had the talk about their gigs. Captain excellent answers that he has pretty much done it all for Richard; battled monsters out of the bed, cheerleader, confidant. (and to think that he has been with Richard for 40 years or so) Then, i bawled my eyes out when Richard asks Captain excellent that it was time for him to go. Captain excellent answers, "Im not ready.." Awwwwww!! Ryan Reynolds is indeed excellent as Captain excellent. you have to admit that Ryan looked like a super hero douchebag.. a HOT super hero douchebag, i might add. And yet i adored their friendship.

You know, i had a feeling Christopher was Abby's imaginary friend but i didnt realize it until Captain excellent and Christopher finally meet and i was like DUH.. but yah..

really really loved the movie. had funny parts too, especially Ryan Reynold's lines. great job by the cast. Emma was brilliant here too. And i loved the soundtrack..

But seriously, i still want an imaginary friend. Especially if its Ryan Reynolds.. hmmmmm.. :)

don't you know baby, were all alone now.. i need something to sing about..

I know what you mean. Kind of someone imaginary to help you, when all the real people you know can't. I loved the idea of imaginary friends in this movie, that something or someone imaginary could be used as a coping mechanism for reality. Captain Excellent and Christopher kept Richard and Abby from being completely, overwhelmingly lonely and from experiencing that hopeless self-destruction that always comes with loneliness, until they met the only other person who could dispel everything and fix them. I wish I had someone like that.

I only do it with superheroes.

If you want to see another good imaginary friend movie, check out "Drop Dead Fred." I'm thinking the writer of this movie had to have seen it. Many similarities about growing up.

Only children tend to have imaginary friends more often and the brighter the child the more likely s/he is to have one. My son had several imaginary friends who came around to be with him when he was five. They remained until he was about ten or eleven. Then they left.

They ate a great deal of cheese and peanut butter while they lived with us. They were also quite fond of Triscuit Crackers. I couldn't keep them in the house.

Pretty sure the whole film was about his psyche...every single character, represented a part of his mind or personality...

There we were, minding our own business, when kids started killing themselves all over my property.
