Any writers identify with Richard's plight?

As regards writing his novel, of course. I'm a writer, too (not published as of yet), and I know how easy it is to get hung up on details like character names. I can't say that I've ever had serious writer's block, though. Plenty of times when I didn't feel like writing, and when the words just wouldn't materialize on the page, but never a time when I wanted to write and either couldn't or didn't know what to write about.

So how about it? Any other writers out there who've dealt with writer's block? If so, how did you overcome it?

I'm surprised you are a writer and enjoy so many (in my opinion) bad films. Oh well.
Sure fire way to cure writers block. Leave. Leave it behind and go out and do something random. Explore some sight, someplace that gives you peace. I luckily live in Florida and am by the beach so it's pretty fulfilling. You can't write during the block or because the words are coming out all wrong. LEAVE. THis is your mind telling you no, this is wrong. Come back to it after you've seen something new and different.

I'm a writer too. Not published but I have no doubt in my mind that I will be one day. I wish you the best of luck with your writing.

Thanks, alejandrodeleon559. But just so you know, I like lots of films, not just the MCU movies.

I am a published author, and this movie is totally real to me. The weight of having to create a universe with words, all resting on your shoulders, is both frightening and crippling. You have to isolate yourself to devote 110% of your concentration to create, and yet, the isolation becomes unbearable.

I don't have an imaginary friend per say, but I always feel as if I'm two persons. I can talk to myself and also answer the questions myself is asking me, so I guess it kind of fits with what we see in the movie. I also am kind of a big kid. Day to day reality often eludes me, always having my mind wrapped around my own little world. Creativity will do that to you...

My own remedy to cure writer's block is just to write already. Even if what you write is bad, You'll at least have a ground to build on. Don't be afraid to rewrite and reorganize your work (sentences, paragraphs, chapters, etc...) and the writer's block will be less and less frequent.

Good luck, friend.
