did anyone else notice? (SPOILER WARNING!)

Right at the end when Viren Sahi (Amitabh Bachchan) is betrayed by his son and the corrupt police are holding him in custody to kill him, Viren Sahi mentions how when his son was 8 years old and was hit on the head with a cricket ball, straight away he grabs his son and runs off withim through the traffic of cars to get to a hospital but he didn't have any money so he decided to rob a guy by stabbing him and taking his money.

Well, I also noticed that he was living in a decent house when his son was younger than 8 years old. In the flashback scene when he goes to his old house where his family were being held hostage and he doesn't know but then gets a call from Aryan (Aryeman Ramsay) to distract him.

I hope someone can explain this, cos to me it seemed like a bad continuity error in the story as with almost every Bollywood films out there. I hope someone can clear this up for me!
