ALMOST better than The Core.

Almost. This films biggest crime is the sloooooooooooooooow first act that treads on for ages, but once they get down below the surface it becomes alright. The acting and CGI is quite passable for a film like this and the sets look pretty good. The Core was such a typical Hollywood disaster film with the ADHD editing and dumbfounding logic and whatnot, but it had a budget of 70 million but did little. Descent had a budget of, what, $400,000 and did a lot.
