1/2 Good + 1/2 Horribly Bad

I found this movie in the beginning and for half way through to be very good..The eerie mood and characters were not so " Hollywood " like and it was great in giving you a good scare. You didnt know who the killer was and it kept you engrossed in watching and trying to solve the case with the main character. The flashbacks and the old amusement park were so incredibly enjoyable to watch. I loved the first half. THEN it fell fast.. As soon as the war scenes began and some ridiculous alien or vampire or whatever the heck kind of monster that was came into the movie and only bit one man amongst many soldiers was ridiculous. Did this bring into the plot cannabilism? Okay we have child abductions , murder of children, ghosts , religion , war & soldiers , aliens , cannabilism , vampires who rise from the dead and burst into flames for no apparent reason.. It just turned too ludicrous.. I wish it would of just stayed on the subject it started out as and ended with just as good of an ending solving the child murders and not put in ALL of that other stuff that made the movie a big letdown.. I was totally disappointed in it and its too bad because it could of been a hit..

I really was loving the movie until they figured out who the killer was.

I know this is a very old thread but it sometimes takes me a while to get around to these things lol

I agree that there was just too many out-of-the-blue elements thrown in, even though, tbh, I rather liked it. At least up until the "reveal" (of which nobody would have guessed...& not because there were stumped ya twists but because of a killer that appears to be randomly thrown into the mix)

Had they not went with the vampire/alien mutant thingy and kept the supernatural elements to just the ghosts themselves leading the brother to the real (& human) monster & have the killer be just a demented guy who was a serial killer of children...have the flashbacks to the war to show how his mind snapped & perhaps make the removal of the kids' teeth his "m.o."

Certainly not the worst movie I've seen though...
