I don't plan on viewing this film...

The book is fiction. The movie when its released will be fiction. Why is there a need for a 'Da Vinci Code Decoded'? What's next... 'Indiana Jones.. Fact or Fiction'.

I think it's because in the story, the Catholic church is made out to look bad. So they feel they must have a rebutal. Well, let them have it. I won't watch it though. I loved Dan Browns book and I don't care to hear people whining about "but that really didn't happen". Duh!

Food for thought though... How would the Catholic Church (as portrayed in the story) respond to this book? I would think that they would demonize it by putting out a 'Da Vinci Code Decoded' ;)

First of all, 'Da Vinci Code Decoded' was not put out by the Catholic Church. Dan Brown is on the DVD, along with other writers of the same genre. It not only explains in more detail than The Da Vinci Code about the paintings of Da Vinci and other possible theories about Jesus's life WITH Mary Magdalene as his wife. It goes further into Da Vinci's paintings and their meaning. This documentery doesn't disregard anything that Dan Brown wrote about. (Although they do admit that Dan's book is fiction, therefore some of the story is produced mearly to have a more thrilling storyline) If anything, it makes what was written in the book more believeable and probable than anything you'd hear in church. So if you think 'Da Vinci Code Decoded' is just a two hour Dan Brown bashing, then you're wrong. I found it very interesting and if you enjoyed reading The Da Vinci Code, then I see no reason why you wouldn't like this.

Darn right. While some of what Dan Brown wrote was designed to serve his plot (like the interpretation of the inverted pyramid over the small pyramid on the floor of the Louvre and the Star of David at Rosslyn) the rest is confirmed by these experts, including Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince of 'The Templar Revelation' and the compelling, soft-spoken and appealing Margaret Starbird of 'The Woman With the Alabaster Jar' and 'The Goddess in the Gospels: Reclaiming the Lost Sacred Feminine' (all of which are mentioned in 'Da Vinci Code'). This is a must-view for any believer in the premise of the Da Vinci Code.

I haven't even read Da Vinci Code and am capitvated by this documentary. I have no idea about the story Dan Brown wrote about, but I was able to understand everything this documentary talks about.

It's truly amazing stuff. To think that something that so many people believe in could all be just an edited version of the truth. Simply an adaptation of an existing faith to give inspiration to soldiers on the field of battle, whilst they shed blood and kill for a deranged emperor.

Sorry bradmalia, but the Catholic church doesn't need a book or movie to make them look bad, they do that all on their own.
(This doesn't mean Catholics are bad people in general!!)
