Really want a sequel.
The ending really left me wanting more. I want to see her fight the main villain.
But, seeing how the film bombed, I guess it won’t happen. A real shame. I enjoyed the movie much more than I thought I would.
It’s doing quite well internationally. If it holds well in China, it might soon break even and could become profitable. This doesn’t guarantee a sequel (it would immediately get green lit if this was a much bigger hit), but this movie probably still has something to prove.
But I fully agree - I wish to see more of this world and Alita herself. The way they set up a sequel was great. At the same time, if a sequel isn’t made then I see the ending as rather frustrating (though I can still appreciate it in a leave things to the imagination kinda way).
Update: well whatddya know... it looks like the pathetic manchild incels (mods, if you’re going take offense to that while allowing all this anti-SJW ad nauseam to continue, then you’re showing your bias) have embraced this movie and are foolishly pitting it against a vastly more well-received film that is offending their little reactionary feelings. Lol, and the fascist dullard behind this pro-Alita movement is someone who previously slammed Alita; the incelites following after their dear leaders are too dense and hypocritical to notice or give a damn about this, of course! All the neckbeards care about is going after any supposed white genocide people.
Hilarious though... Alita is in, some ways, more social justice than the big bad superhero movie the reich fears. But as every sane person should know by now, the foolishness of these reactionary trolls is something else. Ok, well, I didn’t want to do this but... it looks like Alita is over and out! The propagandists are pitiful.
