Empire also gave "Ghost in the Shell" three stars ... and that film was painful.

not just empire most reviews are mixed so looks to be another GITS, JCarter, Valerian, Cloud Atlas, Jupiter Ascending, Mortal Engines...(and like those will probably bomb)

think ppl were holding out hope that due to Cameron's heavy involvement over the years (and to an extent RR) this could be like another Avatar...but unless Cameron actually directs stuff like this can fail to hit the mark

It looks like it's heading for a Rotten rating on RT, although perhaps that's unfair, seeing as 3/5 star ratings are being categorised as 'Rotten'.

that's generally the case that 3stars gets 'Rotten' (e.g. Glass)
