the acting

its an interesting show but the acting is horrible!!!

A lot of times they use the actual physicians - untrained as actors, naturally. The show may be on a budget - the pros they use may be low-end no-talents.

You know me. I'm just like you. It's two in the morning and I don't know nobody.

reply

As opposed to high-end no-talents. ;9)B

reply

"high-end no-talents" ... ok, I get it, a redundant repetition ... but that actually exists ... subject for a separate thread perhaps ... but off the top of my head: Madonna and Ben Affleck

reply

That's most likely because only half of the people shown are actors. They use quite a few real doctors, real nurses, etc.

The acting is the worst-do they realize that they come across as conceited. In a real ER or ICU ,we know each others names and that's how we address people. The physician is always made to look like the only hero-not the others that helped. We watch it in our hospital but it is seen as more of a comedy. It could be a much better show

this show is about untold stories of the er there from doctors who did it and may not remember everything i think your streching it way to much too far.

There really isn't acting on this show the way we usually think of acting. These are more recreations or dramatizations. Many are done with the actual patients, doctors, and nurses--who aren't actors--so it is more of a documentary. It is more reality than the reality shows! lol

I've seen better acting in a Uwe Boll film...

Each season, the acting (by the paid actors)has gotten progressively worse. The first 3 seasons were really good and somewhat realistic. I watch it for the comedic value now. In the season 10 opener, an allergic reaction was was way over the top with a set of obviously plastic set of lips. I laughed out loud at that.
