The animated DC universe is going to Hell!
So THIS is the best those writers of the animated DC universe can come up with? This kiddy crappy snorefest? Bruce Timm and crew (Paul Dini, etc.) began the animated DC universe with "Batman: The Animated Series" in 1993. Batman was the best of the best. But batman was canceled after 85 glorious episodes. In 1996, they created Superman: The Animated Series. Mind you I didn't find it as enjoyable as Batman, but was still faithful to the comic which it was based off of.
Superman was entertaining enough. Finaly they bought Batman back in 1997 with its inferior but still good sequel series, "The New Batman Adventures," aka "Gotham Knights." In 1999, Bruce Timm and company decided to take a different turn with Batman with "Batman Beyond." Which was an improvement over "Gotham Knights," but nothing could compete with the brilliance that was "Batman: The Animated Series."
They then decided to take some steps back into the past and brought us "Justice League." Then they decided to take that a step futher (like they did when they made "Gotham Knights") and created "Justice League Unlimited." And Static Shock tied in there somewhere. Teen Titans is another good show (but I don't really think it ties anywhere in the animated DC continuity). I could expect nothing but amazment from the people that made these grand shows.
But NOW, most of their efforts are proving to be nothing but mediocrety. They first started to lose me when they created that crappy "The Batman" on WB, which eventually came to Cartoon Network. When I thought "The Batman" was bad enough, there comes this trash, "Krypto the Superdog." Bah! Even the TITLE is lame. I know Kryto was a character in the comics, but he was never like...THIS.
If only it weren't for the new weekly episodes of Justice League Unlimited, the animated DC universe would be...nothing. What with "The Batman" and Krypto" billying things up.
