Since Krypto is an alien dog, how can he possibly have a pedigree from Earth? He's just a cute "space mutt", IMHO. :)
shareA fair estimation would be a cross between a Labrador and a Dogo Argentino--a white Mastiff type that would account for his muscular, "Pit Bull" looking build. In his original comic form he also had that "bully" appearance, but more so, and he was changed quite a bit.
However, I should point out that Brainy Barker's also a dog from another world (presumably), yet she calls herself an Afghan--a breed of "Earth dog." True, she (like some other similarly-designed animated dogs) is actually more like a Saluki. But either way, the point remains. The other Dog Stars are earth breeds too--Dachshund, Husky, Chihuahua, Bulldog, etc. But whatever, I guess the same kinds of dogs can exist elsewhere in the universe, too. ^^
