watching the DVD makes me aware how good it was

I liked this when I saw an episode (of 4)when it was shown on tv.
I liked it but thought it was obsessed by period detail but having bought the dvd I think I misss judged it.
It is good and the acting is especially good but it only got one series so either it was not liked by the public or ut was not liked by the executives.

It has been off screens for too long to come back I expect but we can hope that someone remembers it.
