shareYeah.. that slogan was slightly on the nose for me too. I mean I get it and appreciate the wordplay with the introduction of the first female Doctor, but I couldn’t decide if it was clever or like waving a red flag to the haters, and thus slightly counterproductive.

It was absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, put in there to piss off long-time fans. It's what modern film studios do. They alienate the existing fan base, in favor of a small minority, who aren't even fans. Film studios all over the world are losing billions as a result, but they keep on doing what they are doing. It is proof positive that the people running these companies are insane.
