Just listened to Big Finish's Doom Collation

Its 4 boxsets with 4 episodes on each, with 8.

It introduces the 11. The 11 is a really interesting concept, a timelord who suffers from a multiple personality disorder. Basically all his previous regenerations are trapped inside his mind trying to break out. The first episode really makes the concept scary but I found until the last boxsets last episode, the 11 became a bit of a pantomime villain and often in the sidelines which is a shame as I love the concept and think it could work great in the TV show.

Last year I'd listened to dark eyes which starts great and has a great master show up played by Alex mqueen. It did get a little convoluted by the end and found doom collation flowed far better.

Sounds intriguing šŸ¤”

I must admit Iā€™m not the biggest fan of audio dramas, the magic of Doctor Who for me is largely in the visuals. Still, that concept sounds brilliant, almost enough for me to track this one down. Cheers for the tip, Pete.

If your listening to this it does have some references to previous stuff but works also on there own.

I'd recommend the 8th Doctor adventures first which leads to the 4 boxsets of dark eyes before this one.

As for audios I'm not normally an audio person but have spent the last few years getting into big finish. I started going through the monthly releases. Took me a bit to get into it but I think also the early ones where a bit rough around the edges.

I'm not a fan of audio books but having it actually acted out with sound effects and all works for me at least for Doctor who. I think it helps having the original cast so it feels authentic as if they could be real adventures. If anything I've found some of the stories more interesting but like the show for every good one there are dull ones. I also think having no visual budget helps because their only limitation is their imagination.

If your ever interested there's a link bellow for free audios. The first 50 and I believe the first series of the 8th Doctor adventures are on Spotify
