Not the first Doctor i remember.

The first Doctor was a product of the times he aired in and very grandfatherly/paternal with everyone men and women alike because of his age.I haven't watched the Hartnell episodes in quite a while but i don't recall him being the condescending chauvinist they portray him as in this.

Also the Doctor is supposedly from an advanced alien civilization. Why would he have such basic small minded human ideas of male and female roles.

I predicted months ago that Moffat would NOT ONLY ruin Capaldi's "sendoff", he would ALSO ruin people's memories of the First Doctor by trying to retcon the character in a way to appease his SJW masters.

I have now been vindicated.

Yeah, that crack about "a good spring cleaning" didn't come off. Sure, the First Doctor was very paternalistic with humans, but he certainly didn't spend enough time with humans to absorb their idiotic ideas about race, sex, and social class. He knew that they were idiots about those things, and that his way of doing things was always better!

But while I didn't think the episode was a success overall, I did like his looking at the new Doctor's electric guitar and sonic sunglasses and mocking him for thinking he's so cool.
