Capaldi's departure should have been a secret

It's a good idea in theory but the BBC leaks like a sieve.

I doubt it. It's pretty much impossible to keep that thing bottled up in today's day and age. Though, I much preferred if they did after his 3rd season.

The new guy will be filming Series 11 in 5 or 6 months so it would be impossible to keep the regeneration secret till Christmas.



That is not the question. The question is why does God need a Time Machine?

Yeah it would be nice but they can never do it now; it would get leaked somehow.
Plus they get a ratings boost from people tuning in to see a regeneration and the first glimpse at the new Doctor so the BBC gotta hype it up that he's leaving.
