Did he know what she was ... (spoiler)

Do you think the uncle knew that she was planning to kill him?
I can't think of any reason for him to go sit down there and not say anything for so long. It seemed like he knew that she was there to kill him, and that he was was resolved to his fate. Sort of like "So, it's finally time for me to pay for my crime".

If he was going to talk to her, to ask for her forgiveness, he would've said something I think.

If he was going to ignore her, then he wouldn't kept walking.

Anyone else have any other ideas?

Maybe, although perhaps he did not think that she was going to kill him, maybe just beat him a little and shout at him. He has been exercising as he wiped off his sweat jut after he sat down so he was tired perhaps explaining the prolonged rest.

The reason why I have certain doubts on your suggestion is that Jeong-hye herself didn't have plans to kill him before she left the place where the drunk guy stayed. I always thought that she took the knife with her to stop the drunk guy from slashing his forearms and commiting suicide. If you check the scene, she initially puts the knife back down when she couldn't close it, then she must have thought of what the guy said before and decided not to keep the knife there just in case he did try suicide.

I think that she went there to talk to her uncle but she just got so angry and remembering there was a knife in her bag gave her ideas of killing him.

I agree partly... I thought she took the knife for the same reason -- to keep the drunk guy from using it to kill himself. But I do think she went to see her uncle to kill him. She must have thought she'd not be coming home again, ever. Maybe she'd be arrested? Maybe killed in the process? She set her cat free so he wouldn't die alone in the apartment that she didn't plan on returning to.
