scariest person in the film..

of all the real-life monsters depicted in this film, the one who scared me the most was the scientist, a vietnamese lady who developed the cave-busting bomb.the film goes into her background as a vietnamese refugee.i saw her on a program on the History Channel about her bomb & i don't remember if it was in this movie or that program but she basically is blindly loyal to the US government.the governments enemy is her enemy.she is very arrogant in only the way that someone who was rescued, sheltered and nurtured and, ultimately,BLINDED by the government can be.makes me wonder what other projects with nefarious goals the government may have her on, this combination Mengele/Von Braun very matter-of-factly states she has no qualms about developing WMD for the gov.now, i work in and live near a very large vietnamese population for many years & i couldn't help but see the irony in the vietnamese:they support the anti-illegal immigrant positions because they dislike the hispanic population when most of them left vietnam with only the clothes on their back, the government gave them homes, business start up grants, money for each child & the kids got free college education, all for refusing to fight for their land.this woman is a product of this artificially, privileged position in society & seems to genuinely beleive she is better than other kinds of people.the vietname-community places a HUGE value on vietnamese life, its a shame they don't seem to have as much respect for non-vietnamese & non-caucasian life..

The scariest person was without a doubt the guy who signed up for the army!
When he talked I was afraid he was gonna come through the screen and stab me :P

He's clearly got some mental issues (I doubt those are tics he's had all his life).
His way of handling his mothers death made me think of him being seen on one of those pictures of US soldiers torturing Iraqi's for the fun of it.
Typical example of the kind of people who can kill, but not uphold a law or peace.

That guy was indeed unusual. I couldn't tell if he was slightly retarded or on some sort of drug.

Human Beings...Wow

Not even close, people. Donald Rumsfeld. Here's a guy who has access to the button, as they say, and reminds me of Johnny Carson. Look at him in the film. He's basically looking at the world and laughing. He knows who's in charge, and that nothing can stop it. He toys with the consciences of all Americans. Bush is just a clown, a puppet, but this guy knows what he's doing.

I have to add Dick Cheney to the list with Rumsfield. Everything about that guy sketches me out. If we could somehow give him a truth serum and have him answer any number of questions about the last 8 years, i think we'd be floored. Unfortunately, I don't think we will ever see the full extent of what has "really" happened to the US.

Get ready for the next #1 world power that even we can't mess with. You can catch them on NBC right now hosting the Olympics. Start brushing up on your Chinglish.
