Really...

1.- Her current hubby at the beginning is shown to be not much to look at.
2.- Lemalian is quite handsome, charming, and has that "wild" thing going on that makes someone so ugly like Angelina Jolie attractive.
3.- She's shown to be QUITE stubborn, and pretty tough.

So I could KINDA understand why she ran off to him (while I've never become THAT obsessed about any stranger, women do sometimes get struck like that for strangers, only this one REALLY took it too far).

Now, I really think she was somehow mentally ill

1.- How the FOCK does someone switch Switzerland, one of the BEST places ON EARTH to live (world ranking), for, excuse me, a CRAPHOLE?!!!!

She wasn't even living in a town like the other white woman (whom herself had a look on her face like she was finally wondering WTF was she still doing there), but a HUT!!!

- No pluming, no toilet, no toilet paper, no clothing but what she could buy in town or bring along, NO SUNSCREEN (we're supposed to believe a WHITE european woman can witshatnd the African sun just like that? There's a reason the Massai are pitch black, they NEED to be to survive), no medicine (except whatever the witch doctor gets you from God knows where)....

You get the picture.

2.- Where does she get off thinking she is in any way compatible with a SAVAGE?!!!

I'm not being racist, had Africa in the story been switched for some region in Germany or France with naked barbarians or blue painted long haired Gauls/Celts from Julius Ceasear's time living in the 20 century like animals, I would be just as disgusted of them.

And Lemalian was by all accounts QUITE gentile and accomodating as a savage could possibly be (I was surprised he didn't beat/rape/share her or mutilate ehr like their own girls and whatever they are used to do, his people were described THAT bad by people warning her about being with him).

Everything "bad" he did was on account of simply not being able to deal with all the thing she did that no woman EVER could do over there (running a shop, relegating him to being the help, allowing her to leave him and take away HIS only child, etc).

I mean, no matter how nice a guy is, there's only SO MUCH the guy can accomodate at one time. Too much of a cultural shock for him (for anyone).

I guess love does NOT conquer all...
