Film is too long

I found the first half of the film definitely too long. The second half is very strong and good, but the first half where the censor is trying the patience of the writer was trying my patience too.

I agree that it is too long but not with the beginning. I thought the part where the censor is getting excited about his role in the play and runs and runs and runs around the room as does the point with that particular scene. This movie is beautiful but i think it definately could have stood better editing.

I disagree. Maybe it was because I was so engrossed in the film, but I thought it flew by. Brilliantly scripted and acted, I also thought the best bit was when the censor was running around the room whilst acting out his "new" policeman scene.

Me too! The film never wore out its welcome. Much better than the H'wood 2.5 hour "epics" that plateau within the first 30 minutes and stay that way for the next 2 hours. THEY, wear out their welcome.
