Watching the movie - observations, thoughts, ghetto-life, *SPOILERS*
I still have 20 minutes left of the film to watch. Overall, I think some of the dancing is nothing new. It's the same kind of dance I do around the house when I have too much energy, except I just get called immature and stupid when I do it.
*SPOILER AHEAD*
It made me feel sick watching what happened to Tommy The Clown after they won the contest. Where the other "clowns" they competed against broke into his house and trashed it. What is wrong with these stupid people? Somebody is trying to do something positive in the community gets screwed over because some hoodlum babies lost a dance contest. It's a disgrace.
One thing I hate seeing in the young urban community is that it's a giant scene where everybody looks and dresses the same. It's like watching a bunch of punk rock kids try to be as "punk" as possible. It's a damn joke. If any of these people are original and had balls I'd like to see them go out in front of their friends not acting all hardcore and dressed up like a "thug". If these people are trying to make the community a better place, why should they emmulate the people who are ruining it??
It's said throughout the film that it's self expression, but in one scene a guy was talking about "if you weren't "crumpin'" good then they will tell you to go back home." Umm..just throw kids who are trying to get off the streets back on them and you tell them they suck and they aren't allowed to join your stupid "crumpin'" crew?
There are some actual people in here who don't seem like complete hypocrits. I don't like the fact they are trying to justify little girls acting like sluts and emphasizing their body parts. Any thoughts or responses?
