Why does racism still exist?

Reading these threads I get sick. As a white male I weep for our future. There's still the mindless backwoods idiots who think skin color has some sort of infliction on personality.

I know posting a thread on an IMDb messageboard aint gonna do *beep* but DAMN there are soe ignorant *beep* out there. You shoukd be ashamed of yourselves for promoting this biased hatred. Disgusting fools.

A lot of people these days are stereotypical and racist and i really dont know why. I am a white female and color does not matter at all to me. We are all people. I dont see why some people think so differently about somebody else just because of there color or culture, it makes no sense. Color shouldnt matter.

reply

It's all energy and what you do with it. Energy wears a coat, we call it man or woman. Coats from all over the world, coats of many colors, and that's what makes such a great wardrobe.

If the world were all black or the world were all white, we wouldn't get much color out of life now right? - Beastie Boys

So true ,I dont care what color you are.

I hate this movie not because theres black people in it but because I just dont agree with it, I also dont like Hillary Duff's movies, OMG Does that make me racist against WHITE people?? NO.

reply

What do you not agree with? I haven't seen the movie yet but my interpretation of it is that it's about a bunch of dancers...what's not to agree with? I'm just curious about the film so I'm wanting to get people's opinions.

reply

He isn't making an argument he's documenting an art form. Not really much to agree or disagree with.

reply

I'm just curious as to what you hate about it. I see it as documenting a positive seed planted in the negativity that is gang life in South Central LA. why don't you like it??

reply

I can't understand wid all the things happening 4 USA they try to clean up the rest of the world when they got a lodda bull happenin in them streets thaz messed up y can they send their soldiers there in LA Detroit nd clean it up. This movie has a lotta positive vibe. Good work by David, there is nothing racist abt this. Peep juz wasting a lotta their time post over some irrelevent thread title.

have only read wot i came here to,eg review of the film, but saw heading of ur post so thought reply...presumably ur refering to racism by people replying on Imdb, and apart from having no clue why anyone would make racist comments on a film review forum/board since such comments are irrelevent to such a place and should/could get them banned,i do not think your heading 'why does it exist' is very sensible...apart from fact it invites such idiots to comment further(which it has by the amount of deleted/edited by staff comments,) it is also abit of a nieve question.Racism, like any inane bigotry, has always existed in one form or other, and no doubt always will.It makes no sense, but then to me neither does religion, baseball,or seinfeld, which is basicaly my argument-everyone has an opinion about what is right/wrong/what makes sense etc,and there is no definitive FAQ on who or what group is correct in their beliefs.(and even if there was, there would still be people who disagree with the FAQ-lol)
If you want to stop or at least have less such remarks, with an added bonus (from experience,) of annoying the people making such comments, ignore them and not fuel their fires by dragging on their dedicated subject with such replies as you made,as it doesnt help.(You know if invited a jehovas witness into your house to talk about their God that it would mean alot more chat about it than would if you just ignored them or closed the door when they knocked, yet you posted this in reply to simularily fantaticaly biased in their beleif group of people...my theory is you actualy like replying to such idiots, otherwise you wouldnt do it? :P)

Note: Better mention at this stage that i have nothing specific against Jehovas witnesses...I disagree with most if not all religions on the grounds that if they right or wrong in their beleifs, either way religion has been responsable for more wars in history than any other reason, and in my opinion anyone who goes to war over their religion by default cannot be very religious,as a true God would not want or need a war in their name...Its just Jehovas witnesses are well known for trying to force their beleifs door to door so i used them as an example, not for any other reason :P

Yeah we should finnally put this complicated and important issue to bed right here on the imdb forums for some obscure documentary about dancing. I know you people mean well but this is utterly pointless. Go write a letter to a politician or something.

Yeah maybe racism exists because people fear what's different... Or... maybe it's because blacks keep making stupid dance and hood movies. It's not their skin color that affects their personality, it's the insane amount of media telling them to act like morons.

reply

That was an ignorant comment and you should be ashamed.

reply

It is a documentary about some kids who turned a negative into a positive. If you do your research this goes further than some kids hoping around. It was around way before krumping existed. If you pay close attention to the movie it shows how African did ritual dances. The dancing portrayed in the clip from the African ritual has the same moves as krumping. Its more than dancing its celebrating their heritage. What is head banging? Those kids jump around and look like morons. Half of them end up in hospitals bandaged and stitched up for what reason. There is no bases or foundation for that. There is a basis and foundation for krump. It did not just originated in some ghetto. Making racist and ignorant remark with out researching makes you look like the moron not the black race.

reply

Unfortunately that's true...sometimes. But ignorance comes in all flavors.

reply

I toltally agree, racsism makes me sick. And everywhere I look there is so much of it. When will our world ever realise that we are all the same on the inside, we only have different coloured skin because of where our ancestors came from, the hotter parts of the world have darker skin because if they had light skin they would burn, and colder parts have lighter skin. So why do so many people today use skin colour to catorigize us into groups, and look down on others who are different??

When will everyone see that we are all part of the same group, and that is called the human race.

reply

I agree. I respect every art form once I research and see where it originated from. It is not doing any harm to anyone. It is giving the youth a way out. There were also Asians, White, Black etc.. in the documentary. I guess not everyone can be open minded like most. I try to think outside the box.

reply

Racism exists because people are evil. Anyone who disagrees with that is the kind of person who would say that someone saying a can is half-full of piss is an optimist.
