Picked Up at Sundance

Looks like the USA network made the first buy of the Sundance festival.
From the little I know about this story... it sounds like it has a lot of interesting issues.
What do you think?

I just saw that Paramount and Sony teamed up to buy the re-make rights to this story, so a major motion picture might not be far-off. Supposedly this doc impressed a LOT of people at sundance..

The Griffith/Paret story would make a really powerful film.

I agree. I guess it is not too surprising that more people haven't heard about this fight. In a lot of ways, boxing has become a much less-regarded sport in America. So unless you know someone that actually saw or heard the fight, sometimes great stories like this fade with time. I'm glad they are helping a whole new generation appreciate characters like this.

Yeah, the fight really seems to be a watershed event in alot of ways.
Do you think that the big issue here is the death in the ring?
Does his sexuality play into the drama of this story too?

Some of us did get to see the fight when it appeared on TV.
