Do you think what Josh said about Emily in the motel was true?

When Josh accuses Emily of not actually loving him but just wanting him to be somebody else, did you feel like he was right? Because I did. Up until then, I thought this was just a movie about an insensitive, dumb guy who doesn't treat his girlfriend right. I felt like Josh was still a d-bag in lots of ways, but I empathized with him a whole lot after that part.

The movie isn't about good vs. evil. Both Emily and Josh have their good sides and their egotisms. Emily often comes across as vulnerable because she's a girl and she cries, but really she's very bloody-minded on what she wants out of Josh.

Huh, I thought from the very beginning of the movie that he was the one who had his head screwed on straight and his girlfriend was a PITA. Even the description on Netflix describes her as his "high maintenance girlfriend".
