Any Phish heads here?

I can't believe that I am the only person here that loves Phish.

Yo. Count me in. I actually haven't yet seen this DVD but I saw the special on PBS that comprises (I believe) disc 1. Pretty sweet although a bit annoying how they kept cutting between performance footage and band interviews in the middle of a song.

So a question for someone who has seen the DVD: is the second disc like that too? Or does it comprise all performace footage?

reply

The second disc does not have those interviews with the band. It also doesnt cut off the jams like disc 1 does. It's pure live phish, with all of it's 15 minute song goodness.

- had some great times at shows\

reply

Yeah, I like string cheese, but their are other jam bands I like more, like Widespread Panic, Umphrey's McGee and Keller Williams. But the best two groups were defiantly Phish and The Grateful Dead. Is Weir going to be with The Dead or Rat-Dog at central park? Either way it will be a great show. I also never got to see Phish live, but a reunion tour would be pretty killer. I'd pay any amount of money to see all four of them together again on stage.

and play mostly the Northeast

are you a phish head if...

own junta?
own picture of necter?
own farmhouse?
own round room?
own rift?
own story of the ghost?
own undermind?
own live phish vol.16 and 2?

if that gets you there...then yes, i am one

never saw them live though, they never came to Iowa and never really felt like taking a road trip just for a live show...evne though they were a great live band.

can't this wait til i'm old. can I live while i'm young

reply

I wouldn't count on it, even though it would be a pretty cool dvd. If you want to hear it, you can download the entire weekend at livephish.com for around 25 bucks I think. Love the quote too, chalk dust torture is one of my favorite songs.

can u list some of their best songs?

reply

Maze
Character Zero
Walls of the Cave
Rift
Guyute
2001
Divided Sky
...oh my the list just goes on and on and on and ON...but those are a few that i think just off the cuff.

I absolutely love Phish, in my oppinion best band ever

And about the Coventry DVD, i really hope one does not come out...
The show had its highlights and everything, but overall it really sucked. Like listen to the "Glide" recording, it is probably some of the worst stuff i have ever heard them doing. Treys guitar playing is completely off and man his voice was whack that night. The best part of either night was when they did Wading and page started to cry. That was touching. But anyways, I hope they do not make a Coventry DVD. It does not deserve one. I thought they would at least make their last show epic, too bad. They are still the best band ever though, they happened to have a bad show, and that show happened to be their last. Oh well.

They should make a DVD out of the Coney Island show! Anyone see it in the theater?

reply

Im more excited for the NYE 1995 show coming out soon.

reply

Greatest band of all time. Fan of Jam bands or not you have to respect these guys!

reply

I couldnt agree more, Phish is utterly amazing. They blow my mind every time I hear them. They are the best.

reply

yeah as far as I'm concerned, Phish is for sure the best band ever. I never got to see them live though. Maybe in 10-15 years we'll see a reunion. I'd love it to happen sooner but I don't think there's much chance of that.

reply

I'm slowly starting to really like them. I really appreciate how they're all about improve, being a musician myself. One day I want to be as good an "improvisator" as the boys in Phish are.

BTW, I heard they once covered Dark Side of the Moon, which is cool because Floyd is my favorite band right now.

"What do you mean, interesting?"
Roger Waters

reply

They did cover it on 11-02-98. I have a copy.

reply

I realise that this is two years later but WHERE CAN I FIND THAT?????

reply

Huge fan of Phish

Phish is currently my favorite band.

Such beautiful intricate music.

Trey is one of the greatest most unique living guitarists. Im so upset he got arrested.

I was at IT. My friend and I drove 22 hours straight to get there and it was worth every minute. This was one of the best festivals EVER! Also Tightest Chalkdust i've heard :-)

reply

I made it to the lemon wheel, the great went and IT... plus many other NYE and Haloween shows... pretty much tried to make andy that were within a 10 hour drive..... shame they don't tour anymore....
