Watching the Thames

I thought one of the most touching moments in the film was when Arthur looks out his hotel room window and says he could spend the rest of his life just watching the river Thames. It just seemed like such a poignant moment. I wonder if Arthur had an inkling at that time that he had a serious medical problem.

Agreed. I didn't know he'd died when I first watched it. If I had, I think I would have cried at that part.

i just watched NYD again this morning. no, i highly doubt Arthur knew he had leukemia. this type of cancer sneaks up on people and by the time its detected it is irreversible, and the person is usually already in the age range of their late 50s to their early 70s. i have leukemia but by pure luck i was diagnosed at the earliest stage possible, so its in chronic phase rather than acute. i didnt know arthur had passed away until i saw this docu. man, i was floored by the news. rock on arthur.
