WAKE UP HOLLYWOOD

ive read so much about THE MOTEL on the internet , interviews with MIKE, ive even emailed mike about getting a copy cos i want to see it so badly, and after being celebrated as sleeper of the year, checking the website for a possible release date.....NOTHING.

i cant believe something with so much effort, love and care has been put into crafting this work, and STILL NO RELEASE DATE YET...

I sincerely hope FOX or someone picks this up and get MOTEL out there.

these FKN IMDB boards are full of fake ppl leaving fake hype and fake reviews in promoting their latest piece of *beep* 3D movie or FKN PITT /JOLIE movie, and yet when something like this gets made, hollywood doesnt want to touch it because it has an ASIAN AMERICAN KID as the central role.

well F--K Hollywood's narrow minded attitude.

theyre already handing Justin Lin a loaded bomb by getting him to remake OLDBOY ( as if that needed to be remade) and any FKN attempt made by an Asian American MALE FILMAKER gets ignored.

WAKE UP HOLLYWOOD. ITS NOT JUST ABOUT JET LI AND EAT MAN DRINK WOMAN.

thanks.

wtf... what a troll

why don't you go make something

"YES THEY DESERVE TO DIE, AND I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELLL"

while i appreciate the original poster's drive, they really should put more effort into their research. this film has been acquired by palm pictures, is/was out in theatres in nyc, and will be on palm dvd in the fall, as far as a i can remember.

Cheers!

reply

No, I totally agree with ya.

Hollywood is so narrow-minded. All they want to make are martial arts movies; that's where the Asian stereotypes come from.
I want to see them make a movie where Asians are just portrayed as NORMAL AMERICAN PEOPLE, you know, not there for a specific Asian reason.

I also think Hollywood needs to wake up and CAST SUNG KANG IN MORE MOVIES, AS THE MAIN CHARACTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I don't know if Hollywood is quite ready for that yet. Stupid..

Anyone who misses out on this coming of age story because of their narrow prejudices, it's there loss.

I found it delightful and very true to teen life experience. Far better than those "teen" movies where they cast people in their 20s and 30s to play teens who are constantly getting it on.

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.

oh, just netflix it!
