Was anyone else as pleasantly surprised by this movie as I was? I thought Alicia Goranson was great in this...wow

Great flick, probably because it was based on a stageplay.

I was really impressed by this movie. I also have to strongly disagree with the reviewer's comments about the ending being "not resolved".

--Spoilers --

This wasn't about two people "falling in love", rather, it was about Myra having to deal with Ludlow on a 24/7 basis, such that she never had time, or even left room for a relationship (other than Ludlow). As such, I think the ending was done perfectly: They didn't move it to "happily ever after", just that Myra now knew she "could" have, and "should" have, a life of her own, whether it was with Reggie, or someone else in the future. I also liked that way that Reggie eventually realized, that he really did care for Myra deeply, and as such, he couldn't just "let it go", but knew inside he must pursue it. I also interpreted the very last scene, in which Ludlow places his head against Myra, as Ludlow's way of saying: "I'm sorry I was so bad, I am happy for you sis, that -you- are happy.

This story also had a personal touch with me, as I once dated a single mom with 2 of here 3 kids with special needs: Tourette Syndrome. We did move quite close to marriage. Although it had it's fine moments, there was so many problems with mom's anger (she was in counseling for it), that it just didn't work out in the long run (but I sure loved those kids, and their "special needs" never was an issue).

I thought the comment by Reggie that Myra "didn't have room in her life for anyone else" was perfect, as too many single mom's, and single-or-not parents of special needs kids also find themselves in the exact same situation (i.e., no room for a life of their own).

Terrific acting!! Good direction. A definite 7/10 from me.

You are right this was a pleasant surprise....the three main characters were great. I wish this movie had gotten more attention when it was released.
I kept thinking Myra, who is she? then I read her bio and was I surprised, I remember when she was on Rosanne, she left but I never knew why....I was thrilled to find out that she left to go to collegw. I hope she gets to do mure acting she is excellent. And of course Reggie from SITC was great, Marinda didn't enter my head not one single time until now.
I will watch this movie again.

Yep, I have to agree. I never would have thought that Alicia could have been that good on the big screen. I have only seen her as Becky on Roseanne. I never liked Becky. I realize now though that it was Becky I didn't like, and not the actress. She had the accent down pat, all of her emotions were very well played out and acted. Brendon Sexton III is always great.

I totally agree. This was a great movie - very touching. Alicia Goranson was superb. She is an amazing talent. I had never heard of her prior to this movie. The soundtrack is also excellent.

I never heard of her before, and thought she was new, being an "indie" movie. Then I saw she was in Rosanne for years. Never watched that much, either. Did very nice here. Should be in more movies.
