Ending (Spoilers)

Can someone please explain the ending? I sorta get the part where it turns out Mae Nak swapped places with the wife, hence the race to save her at the end. But then they both wake up in bed... Huh?

Im not too sure either... they must have shared that nightmare, Mae Nak probably still haunts them... could also be that theyre leaving it open for a sequel... it would be an absolute disaster if they did make a sequel lol..

No kidding...I can only imagine how terrible that would be.
Did anyone else notice the rhyme scheme? Mak, Nak, Chai, Noi.

Alexliu_1999, Mae Nak is a strong spirit, I think that she used I don't know what to call it other than supernatural 'glamore' to make Mak think she was his Nak. Because remember they pointed out how obsessive/possessive she was of her original love Mak. And the spiritualist woman said the Ghost Nak was useing thier love to call them to her.

Remember how Mak was having prophetic dreams where they'd encounter Ghost Nak, well the bought the house and that made her more powerful. So that when Nak fell asleep she got pulled into Mak's nightmare.

Ghost Nak can't do anything when they're awake, she only has powers now, in thier dreams. So I think that if Mak couldn't have saved Nak in her dream, that Nak could have died (you know that old if you die in your dreams, you're dead in Real Life?) and then Ghost Nak, would have been able to possess Nak's body, because it was empty.

Whew! I hope that made sense.

At the beginning of the film, Mae's spirit was called out by Mak and Nak's love for each other. Mae haunted Mak in his dreams because she thought (or wanted) him to be "her" Mak from the past. When Nak finally reunited Mae's spirit with her body using the brooch, Mae continued to haunt them (hence the nightmare), but now she had her original form. After Mak and Nak woke up from their nightmare we saw Mae's coffin being burned as the credits rolled. The way I looked at it was that the nightmare was Mae's final attempt to find the love that she lost before finally being put to rest.

That ending made me realize that I just saw one of the worst films ever made. What a cop-out.
