Scott Caan's character

What a jerk! Jen/Olivia didn't need his "help" cleaning, she needed the money! And to leave her bed to go have dinner with another woman-with HER money to pay for the dinner! Yes, she put up with him to a certain extent, but he was just so cold. I couldn't stand him.

It's pathetic that she even let him accompany her to her work after the way he treated her on that first blind date. She should have immediately dropped him.

reply

She really should have just said, I don't think this is going to work. You're right. Or at least said, if you want to talk to me while I work or help me clean a little, ok, but I won't pay you.

I think that this part was poorly casted. It is the only thing I would change about this film. I do not like him as an actor as he it is just nepotism. He is short and unattractive. If they had cast a believable trainer and not someone who is a working actor because of his daddy it might have worked.

He's short, but not bad looking. He may have gotten the role because of his dad, but I really just disliked his character in this movie.

I think he's good-looking, but also a little pischer, like his father. I think they both think that they're God's Gift to women, and that is an EXTREMELY unattractive quality. They're both give off a smug, arrogant air in all their roles.

Well I don't know if their roles are supposed to be like that. For example Katharine Hepburn basically always played herself! ;)
Anyway, I hate Scott Caan's character, he's a douche, but he looks very attractive, I think he fits the part very well.
As for Olivia's not telling him to f off sooner, I think it was partly her wanting at least someone, even if he's a douche, and that she wanted an "in" to a better life by trying to become a PA.
However she should have said he deserves no money, he wanted to come along, he slows down her work, she takes longer to take the job done so basically he should be paying her.
PS: never ever ever liked James Caan!

Wow calm down ! You're entitled to your opinion, but having worked in the fitness industry most of my life in the L.A. Valley, I can swear to you Scott gave a brilliant performance, so real, I loved his acting! The shallowness, self centered behavior was spot on. He was a natural!

I think he's pretty cute, but, I hope he's not a rethuglican like his idiot father. He plays a complete jackass in this film, as his father often did (e.g., "Funny Lady" comes to mind). I guess playing an a-hole is easy for rethuglicans.

reply

He is a slimy Actor living in the coattail song his father who is actually a decent actor.
